Why Did My Payment Fail?

When signing up for the first time (or renewing an existing subscription) your credit card payment could be declined for the following reasons: 

  • Incorrect billing address, expiry date, or auth code
  • Insufficient funds
  • Card type: Certain debit cards sometimes won't work. This depends on your bank. (Even if it has the Visa Electron, Mastercard, or other logo on the front)
  • Bank security settings: Even if your card is valid, sometimes banks have security rules in place that block automatically renewing subscriptions. Or they may have other security settings that result in specific transactions getting declined. Call the support number on the back of your card and ask them to take a look at your account and recommend a solution. Sometimes they just need to remove the block, other times you may need to use a different card.
