Payment Failed
Why Did My Payment Fail?
When signing up for the first time, or renewing an existing subscription, your credit/debit card payment could be declined for the following reasons:
- Incorrect card number, expiration date, or auth code (CVC)
- Insufficient funds
- Card type: Certain types of debit cards won't work for online subscription payments. Reach out to your bank for more information.
-
Bank security settings: Even if your card is valid, many banks (especially in Europe) require that you have permissions set up for online automatic subscriptions. Or, they may have other security settings that result in specific transactions getting declined. Call the support number on the back of your card and ask them to take a look at your account and recommend a solution. Sometimes they just need to remove a block, sometimes you need to set up the bank's app on your phone in order to authenticate the payment, and other times you may need to use a different card.
How Do I Retry the Payment?
When you're ready to try again, in most cases, you can just:
- Log in to your account, in a web browser,
- and then complete the sign up form here: Become a Member
However, in some cases, the subscription will be stuck "Pending" or "On Hold", so it needs to be cancelled first. But don't worry, your progress will be saved. You can cancel from your Subscription page (Account > Manage), or contact us for help and we can do it for you. Then, stay logged in to your account, in a web browser, and complete the sign up form here: Become a Member
