Poor Audio Quality in Video Clips
We typically use clear, high quality audio in all of our content, however, we recently decided to also include short video clips to our Units, which are more "raw" examples of what European Portuguese sounds like. You'll probably hate us for this, but we left some of them hard to hear on purpose! 😬 We wanted to challenge you with background noise, fast speech, and mumbling, to mimic what so many learners have experienced: you can understand Portuguese when it's nice and slow and you're in a quiet room with no distractions, but feel completely lost in a real-life interaction, like trying to understand what the waiter just said in a loud restaurant!
Some clips are much more difficult than others, and everyone is at a different level, so keep in mind that you can always click the toggle button below the video to switch back to the crisp, clear audio.
