Pay Without Credit Card Using PayPal, Bank Transfer or a Virtual Credit Card
Thanks for your interest in supporting our project! If you don't have access to a credit card, have no fear… there are a couple other options:
Although paying with credit card is the default (and recommended) option, our sign-up form also offers PayPal as an option.
To get started, you can use one of the direct links below depending on which tier you were planning to choose:
Podcast Plus: https://www.practiceportuguese.com/signup/podcast-plus/
Virtual Credit Cards: (eg. MB Way, Revolut etc)
If you have a Portuguese bank account:
You do everything from your mobile device, and you can set limits for each vendor... the concept is more secure than using a regular credit card online because instead of using the same card credentials on multiple sites, you use different virtual cards, and give each of them a name, monthly or one-time limit etc. Updated, May 2019:It looks like banks have begun charging for this service, ranging from 20 cents to €1.20 per transaction, depending on your bank. Make sure to check out your bank's rates in advance, and get in touch with us if you're running out of options – we'll find a way to get you on board!
Outside of Portugal
Depending on your bank and country, there are similar services you can use, like Revolut. Again, cumbersome to set up just to access our site, but worth having for shopping online securely. Do some Googling and see what virtual credit card service will work best for you. (Please let us know if you have any tips so we can update article for others!)
Members who don't have a credit card or PayPal often ask us if we can accommodate a bank transfer, especially from within the EU. Although it's a manual process for us to activate your account which may present a delay in you getting started, we'll be happy to help!
Please contact us and let us know which tier you'd like and we'll send our IBAN and other bank details. (After you've already been a member and are confident that our platform is a good fit, transferring multiple months at once would be appreciated to save us both time in the future… but no pressure :)
